Activity 1: Environment Day - Beat Plastic Pollution

Every year we celebrate World Environment Day in June. On World Environment Day we do what we can to protect our planet. This year the focus is on reducing the use of plastic bags and water bottles. Watch this Environment Day video to learn more about it!
What could you and your family do to protect the planet?
On your blog tell us three things that you could do to help save the planet.
Three things that I could do to help save the planet are to stop using plastic bags as much or at all, pick up rubbish lying around, and recycle recyclable items.

  1. Greetings Alex!
One of the easiest things me and my family members can do is pick up rubbish! Your statements are good! It's also great that you finished the summer learning journey!

What was your favorite activity doing?

Are you going to start blogging your comments?

  3. Kia Ora Alex,

Well done for completing this activity. I finished this activity too. It's great to see you completing these activities during these summer holidays. Thanks for sharing your learning about this activity. Did you enjoy doing this task? Your ideas for this activity is great. I liked it how you said stop using plastic bags, because most people love to use plastic bags and then after that they put it in the bin. I heard that some places like Palmerston north have finished using plastic bags.

    NICE:)

  4. Tena Koe Alex,

I hope that you enjoyed learning all about the natural environment here in New Zealand and overseas. You have mentioned some great points on how to help protect our planet. These are some ways we can easily start to follow and form into a habit by thinking about the effects of our smallest actions. I will follow your lead and try my best to minimise the use of plastic, even when it comes to plastic cups or straws.

I think if we wait around for the other people to do the job one day, the Earth will never be able to recover. It is everyone's job to treat this land as our home and I am 100% with you in this journey!

I hope you enjoyed blogging with us over summer Alex. It has been a pleasure reading through some of your amazing blog posts.

Have an amazing year at school!
    Susie :)
