Body Parts In English/Maori
This week another task for inquiry was to create a DLO showing the names of body parts in English and Maori, my group members Jericho and Joshua W worked on the English version while I used the Maori dictionary to figure out what body part was called what in Maori. I needed to read through all of the different types for most just to figure out which one I should've used.

Maori Legend Storyboard
This week for inquiry the task was to create a storyboard about the Maori creation legend, according to the legends after Tane Mahuta and his brothers prised his parents apart they set out to create everything in the world. After they'd finished they then realised that there were no people to enjoy what they'd created, so Tane Mahuta offered his idea of creating a woman. The other brothers agreed with him so Tane Mahuta sculpted the woman, afterwards one brother told Tane Mahuta to take his breath and give the sculpture life. So that's how the first woman was created. We were allowed to work in groups so I worked with Julian.

New Zealand Olympic Whakatauki
This week's inquiry task was to create a Whakatauki for the New Zealand Olympic team, to do it the DLO was supposed to have the English version, the Maori version and an explanation on what the Whakatauki means. After we'd finished it and taken it to be checked by Ms Kirkpatrick we were then told to ask our Maori teacher Whaea Odie to check the translation, once that was done we were then allowed to blog it.

Whakatauki
This week for cybersmart the task was to create a DLO on our school's whakatauki, the group that I joined for it was composed of Julian, Lyric and I. Together we created a version of the LS1/2 building as well as a representation of our school's whakatauki, to do the care for the land part I created a Kiwi, for the care for the people I created a chain of people holding arms and finally, for the go forward we just drew a person running forward. To do the image of LS1/2 I had to guess the number of things on the building so it might not be completely accurate.

Summarising The Pathway
For reading this week I had to group up and in the group the other members and I had to read a book called the pathway, the book is about before the Treaty of Waitangi was signed. We then had to write down questions and interesting vocabulary that we found, in the end we combined the words that we'd written down with the other groups and then decided on which 6 words were the most important. After that the groups we split up again and then had to write our own summary.

Maori
This week for Maori we were learning about the different places of New Zealand's Maori names, we even learnt about the Maori names of the actual north and south islands. We learnt this by searching up the Maori names onto google maps and then writing down what place was which on a sheet of paper.

Maori Language Week
This week for Maori language week I had to get into a group of two, three or four. I partnered up with jack, in our pair we had to write down and record ourselves saying; Happy birthday in Maori, our Pepeha's, Greetings and counting to ten. A Pepeha is basically a list of your relatives, your ancestry, what the closest river/ocean and mountain to you is and also where you go to school/college/university.
