Holiday reading challenge day 6 activity 1

For this activity I had to pretend I was one in the first waka to land in New Zealand and I had to write a poem to describe how I felt when I got there.

We ran around and found food to eat
After we ate we went hunting for meat
Killing some Moa and eating their meat
After we did that we went to sleep

  1. Hey Alex!

It's so great to see you have done so many of the Winter Learning Journey activities already, and what a great job you have done!

I always love reading other people's writing and seeing their creative thoughts. I love that you put thought into making your poem rhyme and I know that eating and sleeping would be my first priorities after travelling all that way too! I wonder what Moa meat would taste like, what do you think? Like chicken, lamb, beef?

I have loved reading your blog Alex, keep up the great work as you continue!

  2. Kia Ora Alex,
I love the poem you've made using your own words. It's good to see that you've rhymed the end of each sentences to rhyme with next sentence-EXAMPLE: EAT & MEAT.
    Keep it up.

  4. Hey Alex
I really like your poem - it made me laugh. The best part was the second and third lines. Keep up the good work.

  5. Hello Alex, I really like your poem. I like how you have added some rhymes. If I was one of the first people to ever land in New Zealand I would be nervous but mostly excited. Keep up the good work.
