This week in Kiwi Can we were learning more about our topic and theme which are positive relationships and positive communication. Our teachers; Miss Paige and Mr Alipati also taught us a game called Chop Suey Salute, for it we needed to respond to commands with their set actions. For the first command we needed to punch outwards with our right hand, for the second we needed to punch with both our hands, for the third we needed to punch with both our hands and kick, the forth was a kamehameha action and the fifth was an uppercut.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Kiwi Can
This week in Kiwi Can we were learning more about values and how we can use them in our everyday lives, we also talked about rules, why we have them and what they do. We had new teachers this week and their names are Mr Latu and Miss Paige. The theme for this term is respect. We also played two games, for one of them we were split into two groups and then needed to have a debate. And for the other one we needed to do an action for every number said so in pairs if one of us said one they'd need to clap at the same time, and for two it was a bow and three was a small kick.

Kiwi Can
This week for Kiwi Can we were learning about perseverance, when you persevere you don't give up on what you're doing, no matter how hard or frustrating it is. One example of persevering is when you play a sport, your team might be losing the game but no matter what you keep going, We also played two games, for one of them one person needed to try and tag other people, when they tagged the other person they both needed to link arms and then keep tagging others until everyone was tagged and there was a big line. The aim of the other game was to get an invisible ball from one side of a court to another without being touched by the other team.

Kiwi Can
This week in Kiwi Can we were learning more about values, we also played two games, one of them was hand-knots and the other a type of dodge ball. for the hand-knots we were separated into three different groups, each with six people. in those groups we needed to hold the hands of two people that weren't right next to us. After that was done all of the hand should've been in the middle, on top of each other. the task from then on was to somehow untangle ourselves. My group came last for that activity. For the dodge ball game we needed to get into a circle and in that circle the we were numbered from one to four. When your number was called out you and your group needed to get into the middle and the other groups needed to work together to roll the ball into you as fast as they could.

Kiwi Can
Today during Kiwi Can Group B were learning about resilience and problem solving, resilience is our theme this term. We learnt that people can problem solve every day without knowing that they were, problem solving can be used to stop arguments, speed up decisions and other things that would most likely take time. We also played hand soccer and a rock, paper, scissors game. For hand soccer we were only allowed to use our hands to try and get the ball between the "posts" which were just two cones, and for the rock, paper, scissors game we needed to go around the room battling other people in rock, paper, scissors until only one person was left.

Kiwi Can
Today in Kiwi Can we were learning more about resilience (Which is our theme) and goal setting (Which is our topic for this week). We also played two games, one was called Snatch, and the other Golden Child. For Snatch we needed to get into a circle, and inside of that circle Mr Matt placed some cones. We were then told to turn around so that we faced outwards, when Mr Matt said "go" we needed to turn around and grab a cone. If we succeeded in grabbing one we went into the next round, if we didn't then we were out. For the other game; Golden Child one team needed to get a basketball into the hoop whilst the other's objective was to make it from one side of the basketball court to the other without the shooting team getting a ball into the hoop.

Kiwi Can
Today during Kiwi Can we were learning more about our theme which was integrity and our topic which was role models. The first game that we played was one where the whole group was put into a circle and when apple was called we had to jump forwards (to the back of the person in front of us), when banana was called it was the opposite (jumping backwards), and when orange was called we needed to turn around. The other game that we played was one where we acted out people whilst being statues.

Kiwi Can
Yesterday during Kiwi Can we learnt more about integrity, good choices, bad choices and also played two games. To show integrity you need to do to right thing even when others aren't looking. The first game's name was CLAP! and for it we needed to clap our hands every time the instructors crossed their arms or clapped their hands, lots of people we caught out because the instructors stopped just before crossing their arms. For the other game we needed to be split up into two teams and in those teams we played hand soccer, the rules were: Only one hand at a time (We could swap though), you could only go when your number was called and no goalies.

Kiwi Can
This week in kiwi can we played two games and learnt more about our theme which is integrity, and our topic was making good choices. At first we played a game where we had to do the exact opposite of what Miss Lily did, the only catch was she was facing us which made if confusing. I managed to win one game but none others. After that we then played another game where we were split into four groups and in those groups we needed to choose one person to be the captain, that person would then need to stand in a circle while the other members of the team tried to throw the ball to the captain. The captain would be changed every round and one by one the winning team (The ones who managed to get the ball to their captain first) would choose one other team to eliminate.

Kiwi Can Reflection
Yesterday at Kiwi Can LS2 group B played two games and learnt more about fairness and fair play, to do the first game we had to get into a circle and in that circle there were three hoops. We were then numbered from 1-4 and whenever a number was said, the people who were that number then had to speed walk around the circle until we reached our original spot, when we reached there the objective was to quickly run into a hoop. That continued on until the Kiwi Can instructors started to take the hoops away, I managed to be the last number 2 but I was caught out in the last match. The second game that we played was ball tag, three people from one team were the taggers and a whole other team were the runners. The rules for the taggers were; You're not allowed to move while holding the ball, you can't throw the ball at someone and you can't one hand tag someone with the ball (two hands only).

Kiwi Can
At Kiwi Can this week we played three games and were taught more about key values, one of the games that we played was basically a last person in the middle game. For it someone was in the middle and they would then call out a specific something that someone was either wearing or had done, the people who were wearing that thing or had done what ever was called out had to change their spots - The last person to move to another spot was the person in the middle afterwards. The second one that we played was an acting one, for it we either had to show someone being discouraged or encouraged in a short skit. So finally, for the last one we had to go outside and play ten-second-tag. To play it you have to split into different groups, one group will receive a ball and they then have to try to tag the other team with the ball in a small playing area. The rules were; You can't move with the ball in your hands, no blocking, you can't go outside of the circle and you can't throw the ball at someone (only to other team members).

Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can we learnt more about respect and played some games. For one game we had to form a circle while someone stood in the middle with a cone, that person then had to protect that cone by only using their hands and everyone else had to try and knock the cone down with a ball. The next game we played was one where we had to get into two teams and each team took turns chasing the other team inside a rectangle made from cones, the only rule for it was that we weren't allowed to move with the ball until later when they changed it to only two steps. The last game was also a team one, for it each team had to build a tower out of things provided. We then had to try and get a ball and with that ball we had to try and knock the other team's tower down.

Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can we were learning more about respect, we also played a role playing game where in groups we had to try and make a small play with only the items supplied. For the game my group Mojtaba, Aung Naing, Jack and Joseph made up some random scenes which were really weird and funny because of the way we did them.

Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can we played two games and learnt about how we can be respectful when we communicate with others, out topic for this term is respect. For the first game that we played we had to walk around and when a number was called out we had to get into mini groups to try and put the called number of feet into the hula hoops. So to play the second one we had to get into groups and in those groups we had to try and tag another group by tapping them with a bean bag, it was the same thing just the other way around on other matches.

Kiwican
This week at Kiwican we played two games and talked about people we should respect. For the first game we had to walk around and if either Knights, Gentlemen or Horses was called out was had to either; Go on our hands and knees while our partner put their hand on our shoulder (or vice versa), stand side by side with our arms on our sides or just act like we're horses that are galloping next to each other. Also, for our other game we were split into two teams, the team that I was in had to flip cones onto their backs while the other team had to do the opposite. In the two matches that we played each team won one.

Kiwi Can
Today for Kiwi Can we played two games and learnt about respect. The first game we played was called human knots, for it we had to get into group and then basically make a knot out of our arms. Once we'd done that we then had to try and untangle ourselves without removing our hands from the other group members' hands. The other game we played was one where we had to try and tap the ball on the ground 5 or 10 times. We had to pass it to another person once we'd tapped the ball onto the ground, after that they were allowed to pass it back and we could pass it back to them and the rhythm could continue, the only problem was the enemy team could knock the ball out of our hands. My team managed to be the undefeated champions, even though we didn't have a name.

Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can we played two games and were learning about respect. The first game was one where out four different groups were split into two groups, after that we then had to walk around in a circle and music played, once the music stopped we had to freeze and the people who were on one specific spot had to say what they liked about the other person. For the second game everyone had to write down things that made them special, those things would be read out and the others had to try and guess who the thing belonged to.

Kiwi Can
This week for Kiwi Can we did three games, the first one was called the Mili Mili Challenge. For it we had to get into a circle and someone went into the middle, the person in the middle had to point to someone and say either tiger, buffalo, hey hey or patea. The reply to tiger would be roar, the reply to buffalo would be moo, the reply to hey hey would be ho and if they said patea the reply would be a clap. The second game we played was one where we had to get a hula hoop over a cone, there were three cones altogether. The points we could get were 50, 20 or 10. At the start of the game most people were trying to get 50 but they soon realised that it wasn't worth it, so they then went for 20 and 10. Our goal was to beat LS1 Group A whose points were 230. In the end we were able to get a tie with them. The last game we played was GKQ (General Knowledge Questions), for this we had to get into a circle and someone had to get into the middle. The person in the middle then picked someone that they'd start with and from then onward the person in the middle had to beat everyone else in the question, the goal of the game was for the person in the middle to get back to where they started.

Kiwi Can
This week for Kiwi Can we were learning about self discipline, we also played two games. The first game we played was Bip Bop Bounce again, for it you have to say bang before the person in middle that points at you and manages to say bip bop bounce. The other game we played was one where we had to try and fit all of the people in the group into a circle made out of hula hoops that got smaller every round.
