Kiwi Sport: Gymnastics
Yesterday at gymnastics LS2 was learning how to do dive rolls, to do that we needed to jump onto the mini-tramp and put our arms in front of ourselves to roll forward. The three circuits that we work through have different activities that require you to use different parts of your body. My favourite circuit is the spring circuit since there's a jump board and a spring pad in it.

Kiwi Sport
This week in kiwi sport LS2 were able to play a real game of Ki O Rahi, for it there were two teams- Taniwha and Kioma. Taniwha stood in the lake and tried to throw the ball at the Ki (Which was the barrel in the centre) whilst the Kioma team had two guardians whose jobs were to stop the ball from hitting the Ki. If the Kioma guardians caught the ball they could then throw it to their teammates who stood on the outside so they could try to score points. For every Pou pole that they touched with the ball, one more point would be added to the ball, to receive the amount of points they stacked up, Kioma needed to make it to the island in the middle.

Kiwi Sport
This week in Kiwi Sport we were learning about the different positions, locations and roles in Ki O Rahi. In the game, the two roles are Taniwha and Kioma, one of them tries to score while the other protects. Our Coach Shanice explained the names of all the different places, one of them being Te Roto and another one is Te Ara. In the game we played two people were in the middle, protecting the barrel whilst their teammates needed to run around the circle and tap the ball on the posts. The other team formed a circle around the two people in the middle and needed to hit the barrel before the people in the middle's teammates got all the way around.

Kiwi Sport
Today during Kiwi Sport our coach was first let us play a warm up game of rippa-bull rush, after that we were sorted into three teams. Two teams stayed on and one went to the benches. My team and another team were in the first match, at first it was just us scoring a try and then them doing the same thing, but after a bit the scored two tries before the game ended whilst we only scored 1. My team was swapped out for the other team who won and then we were swapped back in, we won with around 6 and the opposition had around about 5. After that we practised more passing from side to side.

Kiwi Sport | Rippa Rugby
Today during Kiwi sport (Which is Rippa Rugby) at first group B was split up into two groups and in those groups we played a mock game, one side had bibs and the other didn't. After that we were line up in three line and together we needed to pass the rugby ball up and down as fast as we could. It started raining during the ball passing lesson so we moved into the hall where still in our three groups, we played games of Rugby-Netball and Touch-Rugby. For Rugby-Netball when you were passed the ball you couldn't move, so if you did get the ball you were swarmed. And for Touch-Rugby you could run with the ball and only be stopped by a person in the opposition touched you with both hands at the same time.

Kiwi Sport
This week at Kiwi Sport we learnt a new show off move, for it we had to place the shuttlecock on the racket and then try to turn the racket the other way around without dropping the shuttlecock onto the ground. We also played octopus and did some singles and doubles ins and outs.

Kiwi Sport
This week at Kiwi Sport we played a warm up game, did rallies and had one vs ones and two vs twos. The warm up game we played was stuck in the mud, for it the two taggers had to go around tagging everyone and if someone was tagged they'd have to stay in the spot until someone set them free. For the rallies I partnered up with Jack and together we turned it into a see who can hit it further contest. When we did the two vs twos I partnered up with Jack again and together we managed to win most of our games.

Kiwi Sport
This week at Kiwi Sport we learnt a new move, played octopus and did rallies. The new move only worked if the opponent hit the shuttlecock close to the net because then we used our forehand and made the shuttlecock go down to the end of the opponent's side of the court. In octopus I managed to get into the last people left usually but I never managed to be one of the last two, the reason for that is because by then there weren't many gaps. In the rallies I somehow managed to beat a reasonable amount of people, mostly due to luck.

Kiwi Sport
This week at Kiwi Sport we learnt a new serving technique, played a warm up game, did rallies with the new serve and played a mini tournament. The warm up game was infinite tag, where you basically go around tagging everyone and if the person that you tagged has tagged someone else before that formerly tagged person could stand up and run around tagging other people. The new serving technique was the forehand serve where we had to: Hold the shuttlecock like a cup and put the racket in a forehand grip on our racket side. For the rallies I partnered up with Aung Naing and we managed to get ten, and finally for the tournament Aung Naing and I had 4 wins and 2 losses.

Kiwi Sport
This week at Kiwi Sport we learnt a new serve, did rallies and played stuck in the mud again. For the stuck in the mud game if you were tagged you then had to wait for someone to clap their hands together between your legs and smack you on the hand, most people were cheating and only clapped their hands together instead of doing both. The new serve was a backhand one, for it we had to pretend that the shuttlecock was a stinky sock so we pinched it and held it as far away from us as we could. When we'd done that we then had to hold our racket diagonally and our thumb had to be facing us. When we did the rallies we had to keep passing the shuttlecock back and forth for as long as we could.

Kiwi Sport
This week for Kiwi Sport we practised more of our backhand and forehand, did some passing and played infinite tag. With the practising we had to find a partner to throw a shuttlecock at five times and after that it was their turn to throw it at you to hit, for the passing we once again had to get into partners and this time we had to serve and whack the shuttlecock to each other. So finally (even though we did it at the beginning) for the infinite tag we had to run around tagging others but if we were tagged then we had to sit down and the people that we tagged got back up.

Kiwi sport
Today LS1 had Kiwi Sport, it was most whole class going at the same time because some others were at an inter school touch championship, once again Kevin taught us some new techniques and we had some more challenges but this time with a buddy. In our buddies we had to line up and try to pass the shuttlecock back and forth without letting it hit the floor, My partner and I managed to pass it back and forth thirteen times before it finally hit the floor.

Kiwi Sport
Today LS1 had Kiwi Sport, when we walked into the hall our Kiwi Sport teacher Kevin said that we were going to do a warm up. That warm up was stuck in the mud. After we'd played stuck in the mud for a while we then had to grab a racket and a shuttlecock and then line up on the white line. We then proceeded to learn fronthand and backhand, for fronthand you hold the racket with the thumb on top and curl your palm around the handle. Using your hand to push the racket up is how you hit the shuttlecock. So for backhand you have to do the exact opposite, using your thumb to push the racket upwards to hit the shuttlecock. We then had a competition, the person who could keep hitting their shuttlecock for the longest would win but there were two matches so the winners then battled it out.

Kiwi Sport
This week for Kiwi Sport we were learning about how to throw shot put's, we also played octopus. For shot put we were told that first we had to do dirty fingers, dirty neck, clean palm and elbow high. Next we had to stand a little bit more than shoulder width apart, after that we were then told to go and turn to our right and do chin, knee, toes all in a row. Once we'd done that we then had to twist really fast and use momentum from turning our hips to push the shot put ball as far as we could.

Kiwi Sport
This week for Kiwi Sport group B learnt about the proper ways of jumping, we also played octopus and practised our scissor action jumping. For the practising of our jumping we had to do scissor action jumps over the lines on the court. When we tried out jumping over the small high jump bar Julian wanted his nearly all the way to the top, and he actually jumped over it. We learnt that you mus have bent knees, a fast run up, high arms and left arm left leg right leg right arm or the other way around depending on what side you run from.

Kiwi Sport
This week for Kiwi Sport we learnt about jumping techniques, we learnt that we should: Bend our knees, swing arms forward when jumping and knees in line with shoulders etc. We did three things, one was the Rock, Paper, Scissors semicircle. For it we had to do two foot take offs and two foot landings on some pads that were arranged in a semicircle, the idea of the game was to beat everyone who came on the pads using Rock, Paper, Scissors. Another game we played was a "Jumping relay" where we were split into four lines and had to jump as far as we could and then the next person had to start from where you finished and jump as far as they could etc, the team that got the furthest won. The last game we played was octopus.

Kiwi Sport
Today for Kiwi Sport LS1 group B did three activities. For one of them we had to race other classmates, we were told that if we pointed our feet forward and leaned forward our heel on the back foot would go up. We also played a game where we were told four things, one space was here, another space was there, another space was where and everywhere meant to just run around all over the place. In the game once here, there, where or everywhere was called we had to move into the rectangle/run around. The last activity we did was one where we had a partner and also had a cone behind us. The main aim of this activity was to improve our reaction time because as soon as Andy clapped we had to turn around, run to grab the cone and sprint back to the line. If we beat our partner to the line then the side of the line that we were on got a point, the team with the most points in the end won.
