Activity 3: Concluding the Journey

Sadly, the Summer Learning Journey has now come to an end. It is time to reflect on everything that you have learned about the environment and, particularly, about how you can protect and preserve it.

On your blog please tell us:

  1. What is one thing that you learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey programme this year?
  2. What is one thing that surprised you?
  3. What is one thing that concerned or upset you?
  4. What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment?
Answers:

1. I learnt about different species alive, endangered and extinct.
2. That you could adopt animals like giraffes and pandas.
3. The fact that people need to protect wildlife reserves from poachers and hunters.
4. To stop using plastic as much.

  1. Hello Alex! This is an interesting order you have chosen to complete the activities, I would have not thought to skip to the reflection. I enjoyed reading your answers to these questions. I agree with your last point, even thought to stop doesn't sound much I think using re-usable items is a better solution to plastic waste. What things might you use instead of plastic? Keep it up!

I agree... We do need to stop using plastic so much, Because plastic does kill our environment.

Maybe you could have added a few pictures. That would be great.

Anyways Keep up the amazing work.

Its great to see that you have catched up to the SLJ. Also Congrats on completing the whole of the SLJ. I can't believe that you only did 1 activity from the SLJ to completing the whole programme. Was it hard doing the activities?

  9. Hi Alex
I have just returned from my holiday and have had a look through your SLJ activities. What a fantastic amount of work you have done! Which was your favourite activity? Looking at your reflection your response to what concerned or upset you would have been the same as mine. I think protecting animals from hunters and poachers is really important too. This is a big problem around the world and I'm so pleased people are stepping up to the challenge of catching the poachers, especially the ones who take the life of a rhinoceros just for the money they can make selling the horns. Great work Alex :)
