Holiday Reading Challenge Week 2 Day 1 Activity 1

Today I did the first activity of the first day for the second week of the summer learning journey, for it I had to find a cathedral that's in New Zealand, Write down when it was built, How long it took to build, the name of the cathedral, where it was built and I also had to add in a picture of it.

I found the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Auckland, Cnr St Stephens Ave & Parnell Rd, Parnell, Auckland 1052. The construction for it started in 1843 and ended in 1849, meaning that it took 6 years to build.

  1. Hi Alex,

Ruby here from the Summer Learning Journey team! It's great to see that you've continued to work through these activities. Keep it up! :)

Good work! The Holy Trinity Cathedral is amazing! Are you sure that this picture is a picture of the Holy Trinity Cathedral? I was there just a couple of weeks ago for a Christmas Concert and I don't remember it looking like that! Perhaps you should check if this is the right picture.

It only took 6 years to build?! I'm surprised about that, I thought it would have taken much longer. Some cathedrals, like the Notre Dame in Paris, took 200 years to build! How do you think they managed to build the Holy Trinity Cathedral in only 6 years?

I look forward to reading more of your blog over the summer.
    Cheers,
    Ruby.
