Holiday Reading Challenge Week 2 Day 4 Activity 1

Today I did the first activity of the fourth day for week two, for it I had to go to this timeline and take two events and then write them both down below with all of the names of the people involved.

  • 1 September: Germany invades Poland
When that happened it basically started the world war because Poland is under the British rule, that also meant that when Britain declared war all of the other countries under it had to follow on.

  • 30 April: Hitler commits suicide
That marked the beginning of the end because without their leader the central powers crumbled quickly although they were already starting to fall before Hitler's death.

  1. Kia Ora Alex,

Another activity complete! Those are some very significant events. How do you think people reacted when they heard Britain had declared war?

I feel so sorry for all the people who had to live through that era. Do you know which countries had to follow Britain’s lead into war? Poland one of them. See if you can find out which other countries where under the British rule.

Keep up the great work Alex.

    Cadence :)

  2. Talofa Lava Alex,
Congratulation for keeping up with SLJ posts. I've done this activity too. I really like it how you've structure your 2 events into good order. Would you be part of these events? Next time you should add a photo for bot of the events.
    Nice Work.

  3. Hi Alex
Well done on completing this summer learning journey activity. Your explanation of the events are great. I wonder why Hitler committed suicide? Maybe because he didn't want to get captured by the allied forces. Keep up the good work Alex.
