Summer Reading Challenge

Three things that you need to do to stay safe on a plane:

When the seat belt sign comes up you have to put the seat belt on.

When the breathing thing comes down you have to strap it around your head.

When you are told get the life jacket out from your seat put it on and pull the string that will inflate it.

  1. Hi Alex,

It's great to see that you've been actively participating in the Summer Learning Journey programme today. It looks as though you have watched the 'Men in Black' safety video. It's pretty good, isn't it?

I really enjoyed watching Israel Dagg rap and watching people like Dan Carter and Richie McCaw demonstrate how to stay safe in an airplane. Speaking of Israel, Dan and Richie are you a fan of the All Blacks? I hadn't even heard of the All Blacks until I came to New Zealand in the 1990s to visit. Rugby just isn't a very popular sport in Canada so we rarely, if ever, watch it. Instead, we love to watch ice hockey, basketball, baseball and American football on TV. I've been watching football quite a bit lately as there are only a few teams left in the draw. They are all competing to be the final two teams and to play off in the championship game called the 'Superbowl.'

If you're interested in learning more about the sports that are popular in other countries, please consider trying the activities for Day 10 in the Summer Learning Journey. The activities involve watching short video clips of athletes competing in various sports. I think that you'll really enjoy it (if you like sport!)

Take care and I'll look forward to checking your blog again tomorrow:)

    Cheers,
    Rachel
