Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey!! It is wonderful to see that you have joined our journey this summer. I really like that you have chosen to travel to the United Kingdom. It is a personal favourite of mine as I used to live and work there as a teacher. I taught at a small high school on the east cost of the country in a place called (Caister-on-the-Sea). I taught science and physical education when I worked at Caister and I really loved it!
In fact, I met some of my closest friends when I lived in the U.K. We used to get together for dinner and drink lots of tea and eat lots of fish and chips :)
Do you like tea or fish and chips? If you do, you would really like it in the U.K. You might also really like the interesting museums, the gorgeous cathedrals and the beautiful countryside. It really is a stunning place!
I hope that you choose to continue your travels with us over the next week. There are lots of fun activities and you can learn a great deal more about traditional British food, music, sports, politicians and holidays.
I'll check back in tomorrow to see if you've posted anything new. I hope that you will!
Hi Alex - I just wanted to send you a quick message to let you know that we have gone over the scores again for the Summer Learning Journey and you were within one point of third place. I have decided that I will award both you and Aminiasi 3rd place for the competition and you will receive a special prize when I come into your school to visit in a few weeks time. Congratulations!!!
