This Sunday marks the 100 year anniversary for the World War One armistice day, but since we don't go to school on Sunday, we had our own armistice commemoration to pay our respects to those who fell for us. The assembly was held outside next to the blue fence, people like a member from the New Zealand Defence Force, board of trustees members and the head students came and gave speeches too. Two pieces of music called The Last Post and Reveille were played as the flag was being lowered and risen. Afterwards the member from the New Zealand Defence Force came to our class and talked to us about what he did and answered any questions we had like; How many years he'd been in the army, what rank he was, why he wanted to be in the Defence Force and some other things that we asked about.
